What are you grateful for this 2020?

December 18, 2020 by Eli Caballero Leave a Comment

We already know what this year brought us. Everyone has their own share of stories. Most of what happens this year lean toward the unfortunate side. What are you grateful for this 2020? Are there things to be happy about this year?

What are you Grateful for?

What are you grateful for?

The Lord said, “…give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians 5:18. How can one focus on the good if everything seems to be in shambles?

I realized all this time, I’ve been asking how without knowing the why. Why does the Lord want me to give thanks even for 2020? Is it because he needs my praise?

I don’t think so.

In my case, listing down some of the things that I am thankful for this year helped me mentally and spiritually. I believe the Lord commanded us to give thanks in all circumstances to help us through things.

Sharing with you some of the things I am grateful for this year.

I am grateful that we are all well and safe.

With the current situation, this is one of the greatest things we are grateful for. My mama is trapped here with us when the pandemic hit while my papa is left in the province. We may not be able to visit him due to travel restrictions, I’m just thankful that they are well and healthy.

I am grateful Catanduanes survived a series of typhoons.

That was five consecutive typhoons! All are significantly destructive. But I am grateful that our island province survived.

I am grateful for Bayanihan amidst the crisis.

I am thankful that amidst volcanic eruptions, pandemic, flood, typhoons, economic crisis, people step up and offered what they have to lift others up. Organizing drives outside the comfort of their homes to bring comfort to those who are severely affected.

I am grateful for our medical professionals.

They are selfless.

I am grateful for more quality time with the family.

Prepandemic we always have a reason why we cannot be at the dinner table all at once. Or why we cannot do movie nights because of work commitments. But 2020 allowed us to eat together, watch movies together, cook together, etc.

I am grateful for Tami.

Our little family addition. We got Tami this year and is truly a delight to have. Since our daughter is no longer a baby, Tami served as our little baby.

I am grateful for the closed opportunities.

Because we learned. And we realized we are one door closer to what is for us.

I am grateful for my newfound hobbies.

Yes, I am a plantita though I only have 4 “kids” in my care.

I am grateful for my little Aya

Who knows a million and one ways to make us laugh and get mad at the same time.

I am grateful for my husband.

Who has no choice but to love me.

I am grateful for the Lord.

And all his love for me even if I don’t deserve it.

How about you, what are you grateful for this year?
