Top 5 Restaurants We Truly Miss This 2020

December 10, 2020 by Eli Caballero Leave a Comment

If there is one thing our family loves doing, it is eating out together. If we are not out camping at Bangkong Kahoy, you would find us strolling around the mall window shopping. Malling is just our excuse really to tire ourselves out for the main event of our family days – eating!

We have rounded up five of our favorite restaurants that we wish to go back to as soon as the pandemic is over.

  1. Pad Thai

This is our go-to restaurant whenever we feel like eating authentic Thai food. We do not really mind the long drive as that is part of the charm for us. Our default order: fresh spring rolls, pad kee mao, pad Thai, and sticky mango rice washed down with some milk tea. Trust me, worth the 1-hour drive from our place. They now have a second branch in Robinsons Pacita.

  2. Joe Snack Grill

My love for Korean food probably started with this restaurant. My husband brought me here and it was love at first taste. I tried other Korean restaurants but my husband and I would specifically crave for samgyupsal from this place. I love their side dish. The Korean owner is also very welcoming and would cook and cut the meat on our table. Most of their patrons are also Koreans so the ambiance feels like you are in South Korea. I noticed though that they have increased prices recently. I think an order of Samgyupsal now costs Php 350.00 per person.

  3. Ogawa Japanese Restaurant

Ogawa is our default date night restaurant. It is conveniently located at the Fort Strip nearby malls and parks where we usually spend time strolling around. What do we like about it? The ambiance especially the open kitchen set-up where you get to watch them make your food. If you are planning to try them out, make sure you ring them beforehand as they are often packed. I advise placing a reservation as you do not want to make the same mistake of walking in hungry to quite a significant queue.

  4. Primo’s Diner

For unlimited chicken wings, you can never go wrong with Primo’s. My daughter loves their parmesan buffalo wings while I prefer their Primo’s buffalo because it has a bit of kick. Prepandemic, they are almost always jampacked. Luckily, they are on Foodpanda so placing an order is easy whenever we are craving some chicken.

  5. Genki Sushi

This one is my daughter’s favorite restaurant. Mainly because they have this serving train that amuses her. We haven’t been to Japan and this is one of the experiences we are looking forward to – the sushi train. Aya loves their black pepper chicken don. She also loves the fact that she can place her own order on the screen right beside our table.
